A Hub for Academic Freedom and Faculty Rights

Welcome to the new website for “your” PA—AAUP Conference!  Until now, the Conference has been a less visible part of the AAUP but it plays an integral role in building academic freedom, shared governance, and faculty workplace rights. Our work is often “behind the scenes”: it is practical and meant to serve both as a conduit between individual chapters and our national office. There are AAUP members from 55 different institutions in Pennsylvania. We can accomplish much if we collaborate.

You’ll see on this website information on the work of our our state chapters and our conference. It contains contact information on Pennsylvania chapters, the scholarships we provide each year for the invaluable AAUP Summer Institute, the date and program for our annual fall conference, and details on our “Strategic Initiatives Fund,” a new effort to support chapters in countering the threats to higher education.  In the coming months we will add additional features, including links to events in other state conferences, especially in the mid-Atlantic.
